Building in the Age of AI
We’re living through one of the most significant technological shifts in history. AI is reshaping how we build software, how we think about problems, and how we create value.
The landscape is changing fast
A year ago, AI-assisted coding was a novelty. Today it’s table stakes. The tools are evolving weekly, and the gap between those who embrace them and those who don’t is widening.
But this isn’t just about writing code faster. It’s about fundamentally rethinking what’s possible when the cost of building drops by an order of magnitude.
What I’m paying attention to
A few things I’m watching closely:
- The rise of the solo builder. With AI as a force multiplier, a single person can now build and ship products that would have required a team of ten just a few years ago.
- Taste becomes the differentiator. When everyone can build, the question shifts from “can you build it?” to “should you build it?” and “how well can you build it?”
- Speed of iteration. The feedback loop between idea and prototype is collapsing. This changes how we should think about planning, validation, and experimentation.
Building in public
I’m starting this blog to think out loud about these shifts. I’ll be sharing what I’m building, what I’m learning, and the frameworks I’m developing for navigating this new landscape.
The best time to start writing was yesterday. The second best time is now.
