About
I build things. Probably too many things, if I'm honest.
I run Mapulus, a mapping and spatial analytics platform. I built Mapulus Transform, a desktop tool for stripping sensitive data from datasets before they go anywhere they shouldn't. I'm building HrafnMark, a text editor designed for collaborating with AI without losing track of what changed. And I write on Substack about AI, software economics, and what happens when the cost of building approaches zero.
If that sounds scattered... it might be. I've called myself a magpie before and I stand by it. I see opportunity everywhere, and the collapse of development effort has made that tendency both more powerful and more dangerous.
Most of my thinking circles around the same set of questions. What's worth building when anyone can build anything? Where does the value go when the software layer becomes commodity? How do organisations actually adopt AI when it threatens the identities people built their careers around?
I'm based in Australia. I write like I think, in tangents that eventually arrive somewhere useful.
